About to sign up to the Cycle2work scheme and will also be usingthe bike for weekend recreational cycling (parks, woods, tracks etc.)

Found these 2 bikes to have the best combination of parts after reading up and listening to a chap at work who is very much into cycling.

Any thoughts as to which is the better? Or is it all down to personal taste?

All and any help appreciated!

It will have to be the Boardman as the Cannondale doesn't have the tyre clearance to run the tyres that you will need for the above riding. It's designed for pure road.

Alternatively consider:

http://www.planet-x-bikes.co.uk/i/q/CBPXUJSL/uncle...

http://www.cotic.co.uk/product/bikes/roadrat/alfin...

Both have the larger clearances to run tyres that will be able to cope with gentle off road and still fly on the road.

N.B. Depending on where you want to ride you may struggle on "tracks" with all of the above bikes and may be better suited to a front suspension. One perfect bike for all situations is what many people want but you have to make compromises as it doesn't exist.

The Cotic probably has the most potential to hit off road more as it doesn't have carbon front forks (not as good on the roads but better off road).
