Where do I stand?

Got a holiday booked for september, there's 6 of us. It was all paid and ready to go.

However they have just called to say the airline we were meant to be using has gone under (Kiss) so they have re-arranged it so we are now flying with Monarch same time, place etc.

But they want more money, its not a lot of money, but over 6 people it amounts to a fair whack. Can they do this?

My thinking is its not our problem and they should be incurring the costs?!
