Harman Kardon DPR 1005 A/V Receiver.

Does anybody out there have one?

Would just like some opinions from those who may be familiar with this model?

TIA.

The DPR is a decent amp, but lacks "current" features like HDMi etc. It's video abilities are limited, but it sounds pretty damn good as an audio device.
If you can get it cheap, you could do a lot worse - it's processing was good for it's day, and those digital amps can drive difficult speakers without many issues.

What timing - I just happened to check if I had any responses to this.

As it happens, I bought it. Got it for £145.

And I have to agree with your comments, it sounds very good for audio. Just as well I'm not bothered about such things as HDMI etc.

My BD has multichannel on board decoding, and the DPR has 8 channel inputs so no problem there.

Only thing I've noticed is that it appears to buzz (mechanical sound) which sounds like it could be coming from the switch mode PSU(s).

I've got one of these, don't have any buzzing issues though... was about a grand new IIRC picked it up end of line under 1/2 price well before HDMI etc... not bothered to upgrade as yet but will be going for an Onkyo with inbuilt 4x2 HDMI switching sooner or later just to lose some of the cables.
