Crossing the Alps
Discussion
A question or two for thoses who’ve driven it.
I'm planning a route across the Alps using a route I found suggested on here somewhere. Interlaken, Geltsch, Furkapass, St. Gotthardpass and into Milan.
I’ve been using Google Maps and some of the route is showing as Toll or Partial Toll. Is this all covered by Swiss Vignette I bought for the motorways or are these additional tolls for tunnels, private roads etc.
I was also planning to use what looks like the old twisty road up through the Gotthard pass and not the A2 though they appear to merge at the south end. Is this road drivable ?
Cheers,
Simon.

Yes it is driveable - but sooooo slowly! It's cobbled!I came off the main route at the top (visitor centre - worth a look, and food/drink)and drove down for a while to experience what it was like years ago, then re-joined the main road further down the pass.
