my wall lights at home did the same thing after a very similar length of time.
It turned out to be the bulb holders had corroded connections inside, can only assume they sort of sweated.
Replaced the whole fitting as they were quite cheap and that was easier.

Our flats just had 16 light fittings replaced for the same reason
