And I don't mean the car. Apparently, according to a literate friend of mine, there's an advertisement in the current Motoring section of the Telegraph. Someone is selling the reg no. TVR 1 for £35,000. If you are interested, the telephone no. is 01798 831375 or paul@cobweb.co.uk.

Having looked in my piggy bank I think I'll pass.

That number used to be on the griff I am selling on here at the moment when it was new. It put someone off buying it last week because he thought it was TVR's factory demonstrator. He would not be convinced that TVR 100 is the factory number.

Well tell him to ask on here. Mr prospective buyer - TVR 100 is the factory demonstrator plate!!!

I think a factory demo car would be a better buy anyway ... more likely to have more power and a new diff/clutch

£35,000?

I'd rather buy another TVR for that to keep Trev company!

Oh well, at least I have my 'TREV 1' key-ring

But a Porche will simply shield your front door and give you an extra "e".

TVR 1 is/was connected with Portfield. I saw it on a rather breathed on Cerbera on Hayling a couple of years back. Apparantly the chap only really used it for track days it was rarely on the road. Maintained by Portfield.
Also the plate at that time was up for £40k so someone's dipping out.

I actually think £35k is reasonable. Why don't the factory want it? A PH-er I know has TVR123 which the factory offered £25k back in early 80's. He reckons that's worth £35-40k now. TVR1 has got to be the best plate for a Trev by far ?

I agree, I think £35k for that plate is a bargain compared to the silly prices that some people ask for their plate. I mean, LV51SER is for sale at £25k

Steve if it's not too late with your buyer, I'll back you up re TVR1. My Griff used to be a Portfield Demo and... yup was first registered TVR1.

Course it does mean the car was still a Demonstrator.
