Somewhere warm, mid October.

Due to work commitments this year, my family and I haven't been able to accomodate a proper break.

With the kids having a mid term break around mid october, I'm figuring I'll try and schedule a trip abroad for us then.

I haven't been overseas for some time so I'm looking for suggestions of places/countrys to look that will have clement weather, (mid 20s C), are child friendly and within around a three hour flight.

Turkey or Greek Islands
I went to Costa Dorada (Pierre et Vacances, Bonmont resort) first week in Oct last year and it was 25 deg min every day, not sure if it falls off quickly during the month though.

I think you need 4 hours and go to the Canaries. Even Southern Spain can be cold in October whereas I've spent a week on the beach in Lanzarote at the beginning of October.

Cyprus is hot but not sure what it's like in October and that's 4 hours too.

Malta is nice in October, should be mid 20C's. The sea will also still be warm. Less than 3hrs from UK, very friendly people and all kinds of food available.

You're chancing it with Greece in mid October...we went to Crete at the end of Sep a few years ago. The weather was okay but was definitely on the turn.

We've done Gozo in early Oct and daytime temps were above 20. Evenings/nights were only chilly enough for a light cardie. The sea was plenty warm.
