MOT voyage of discovery
Discussion
Well I took the wedge for it's (overdue - dammit forgot again!) MOT today and made a fairly significant discovery. My car hates Southampton. Not so significant you may think except the place I take it for repairs and MOT's is in Southampton. I can only think it's like a small child who doesn't want to go to the doctors so plays up for daddy all the way there.
Now I have had an intermittant cutting out problem with TreV, but he has behaved himself for the last 6 months or so, except today, just as I reached the Southampton city limits he decided to play his face and cut out at every bl00dy traffic light and stop and generally run like a bag o' spanners.
Of course, this made me fearful of whether he (you notice how a car is now referred to as "He" now - weird) would pass the annual medical or not. Anyway, pulling in to the road the garage is on things seemed to go back to normal. Oh no, there I was in the waiting room listening, start up cut out, start up cut out. OMFG I'm not gonna get to BBWF for the first time ever here, thinks I.
Anyway, what seemed like an age later I'm told it's a failure. What on? You wanna guess? Serious, you wont get it, it's not what you think............The lights weren't working!!!!! Are you sure asks I, we are is the reply, are you REALLY sure, we're positive. So can they look at the lights I ask, thinking that it sounds relatively fixable, ok comes the reply.
So they move TreV from one side of the garage to the other and a couple of minutes later he comes back in with a pass certificate. The lights worked first time after moving the car!!!!!
You gotta love TVR's

Oh, and just to confirm my theory that TreV hates Southampton, at virtually the exact spot he started to play up on the way in, everything went back to normal again on the way back!!! Weird huh?
Hope this little tale has cheered up your day

Must be Southampton then. Mine waited till the bottom Ashurst hill till it broke down. Fortunately worked out that it was the immobilser. Easy fix after flexing the wallet...again!!Now I have had an intermittant cutting out problem with TreV, but he has behaved himself for the last 6 months or so, except today, just as I reached the Southampton city limits he decided to play his face and cut out at every bl00dy traffic light and stop and generally run like a bag o' spanners.

Yep I'm going on Saturday morning too. Sounds like a plan to meet, although I must admit 8.30 is a little earlier than I planned on being at Sutton Scotney. Hey-ho I'll see you there
Supposed to be good weather on Saturday, so not having a side window is hardly an excuse not to go
it's a wedge after all and tbh I think this morning was the first time my roof has been on all year and that's only because it was torrential haha
