Football has just died a little bit now.

Eta: Theres only one Emile Heskey, there's only one Emile Heskey. He used to be ste, but now he's alright, walking in a Heskey wonderland.

At least he was near the top of one list then.

I think footballers who feel the need to announce they are retiring from international football are pathetic individuals.

God damn it! I was getting excited that he was retiring from Football completely, then when I go and check and its just from International Football.

I agree, they should be dispatched quietly with a bolt gun behind Lancaster Gate.

Of Heskey's calibre yes. I wouldn't begrudge an actual decent player announcing his retirement.

Do you think that was part of the deal for England to move up a place ? Make Heskey retire and we won't demote you after what was an abysmal and shambolic world cup.

The only plus I got from the world cup was France going home before England.

Does anyone know if both previous finalist have failed to make the knock out stage before ?

Will Rooney now also retire as he is apparently incapable of playing alongside any other English striker?

Indeed. An excellent record for a goal keeper.

Yep, if he ever went psycho with a gun we'd all be safe as he rarely shoots and never hits anything.

I reckon that I would have scored 10 (at least) had I played instead of him.
