Monarch have done apprenticeships, Luton based, not sure if they still do them.
LLRT do training, again not sure if they do apps.
Another way to get into aviation is distance learning with Barry College http://www.part66.com/ , also Licence by Post.
BAe is another way to get into aviation, they do an apprentice scheme.

Hi,
I used to be in the RAF as an Aircraft Fitter i left about 5 years ago, then i done bit of contracting. until recently i worked for BAe at RAF Cottesmore they started taking on apprentices recently and may still be.
This web site may be of some use http://www.bestaviation.net/jobs/united_kingdom/
Just spotted on British Airways site they are advertising for aircraft mechanic apprentices at heathrow and Glasgow. http://www.britishairwaysjobs.com/baweb1/?newms=se
I second using www.airmech.co.uk useful website and a section to post his CV and get advise on how to make it more attractive for employers.
Hope this is of some help
and good luck to him
