Are you going to replace the lot ? If so get the speakers first especially if you are going to change anything radically (horns, panels etc.) Speakers still sound the most different and you can then match Pre/Power to match. Change the CD last , the Meridian is not bad and differnces in CD players are the smallest.

IIRC the MF pre amp is good, the Meridian is good as are your speakers.

So agree on the power amp being a good starting point to upgrade.

It must be said, that many of the modern integrated amps are pretty good, and might well trounce any pre / power combo you buy (if you buy a 2nd hand power amp).

I'd upgrade the power amp, and personally spend the money on something 2nd hand.

Nothing wrong with kit 20years old, unless you are looking to replace so that the apprearance is updated?

Difficult to recommend without knowing your budget, but I'd get a nice beefy power amp. You have nice speakers, Meridian always made good CD players, and MF good amps.

You may even be able to add an extra power amp to your existing kit, if connections allow? That way you could bi-amp it.
