Suspension noises...

I've noticed that the suspension on my 100,000 mile e39 BMW is making some noises, especially from cold.
It's not knocking or clonking, more moaning and groaning. When you come to a complete stop it does it. When put from Park into gear, as the transmission loads, again you hear that groan as the suspension adjusts.
What do you reckon? I don't reckon it needs an overhaul yet as it still feels tight, I just hate that noise, makes it sound like an old banger - just wondering if I can start spraying WD40 around?
