Break down cover.

Whats the best deal for breakdown cover for me and Ali on our *3 cars:
97 Golf TDi
97 Toyota Paseo Si
95 Griffith 500 (to include European cover for long weekends and a 3 week holiday)

And Id prefer to get cover for the person rather than the car so it doesnt matter what car we are in (ie if we are in a friends car).


* yeah I know, I havent got a griff yet but we need to start the cover now so may as well include it anyway

The AA are good and if you have breakdown cover you can also take out a 'Parts & Labour' cover for the Griffith for around £50 - covers cars up to ten years old.

We use RAC, covers the person not the car and you get a discount if you don't call them within the year at renewal time.

Not sure, but I don't think the AA cover TVR in that warranty, I seem to remember checking when I was shopping around.

Im insured with Classic Line & I get European cover as part of the policy, might be worth a try.

I know several companies who advertise in Sprint also offer this service.

ncs, surely that is just insurance cover while abroad though, not breakdown cover.

Sunninghill used to give free 5* European breakdown cover with their policies.
It seems that since all the Tuscan owners have cost them money they dropped it in favour of saving money.

Im sure its breakdown cover but I might be wrong, it may just be recovery.

OK Dusty, I was with Sunninghill but moved on as they dropped the European cover as Mark said.

.Mark - AA cover my '92 Griffith on the Parts & Labour policy - provided it's less than ten years old before you first take out the cover and it's got a full service history they will cover it.

It's approx £100 for joint membership (covers the person(s) not the car(s)). The 'Parts & Labour' cover is only applicable should you breakdown and the AA recovery patrolman diagnoses a problem which can't be fixed there and then. Well worth it! This additional policy will continue to be renewable when your car exceeds 10 years as long as you took out the cover prior to the vehicle reaching that age.

They didn't ask us for the FSH when we went for it and you are right it is a very good deal!
