Underbody Rust Removal + Protection

Hello people, just signed up to this site and thought this would be a good place to ask for advice.

I have a rather lovely Alfa GTV, lovely that is except for a rust issue underneath. The floor pan has a lot of surface rust, the sills are starting to look a little 'crusty', and generally the whole underneath doesn't look too great. I'd like to get it repaired as the rest of the car is in such a good condition.

I've thought about doing de-rusting it myself, but to be honest it's way too much work for my liking, and I doubt I'd do a decent job. So I've found a few companies who specialise in this kind of thing:

I'd be grateful if anyone could recommend any companies who'd be able to remove all rust and re-apply underseal. I live in the West Mids, so anywhere close would be a bonus!

not sure about rust removal, but for protection, you can't do much better than "before 'n' after"

i'm going to let them get to my 1982 bmw E21 when i stump up the £500 price. 5 year guarantee no rust formation, often lasts a lot lot lot longer than that. they are in Rugby.

Michael @ Rustmaster is a top chap, really knowshis stuff and I was over there a couple of weeks ago having my BMW steam cleaned before being protected. Make the drive because the results are worth the effort!

Good to hear a recommendation! I'll give them a bell next week. Do they actually blast away all the existing rust, or do they assume the cars in a half decent condition to start with?

Your car will be steam cleaned for a good ten minutes before any underbody sealant is applied. Then all of the hollow areas are filled with waxoyl so I would say maybe 40 or more minutes of hanging around.

The farm they use is somewhat spartan, but you are paying for a top quality service NOT a coffee machine, a Playstation and comfy chairs.

It's one of the Rosso Red LE's....a 3.8 M5 and only fifteen were produced with the Chamnpagne leather Trim and Rosso exterior. A top steer and the 3.8's are getting rarer as each month goes by....

One for the collection.

Am interested in an M635 CSi next....

i've been lucky enough to go in a 635csi, great cars and surprisingly comfy. not exactly rapid by todays standards but certainly gets to over 100mph without any issues at all. it will also sit at 100+ ALL day long without breaking sweat

I just love the shape and styling. It will never be a traffic light hero but has elegance, enough grunt and certainly draws attention. Beautifully built too and what an engine!!

Seconded, lovely range of products, the Dynax S50 and Dynax UB are great for this sort of application.
