Mini Cooper S with a bike rack?
Discussion
Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere. I have searched but couldn't really find the answer I was looking for.
I'm after a bike rack, preferably not roof mounted, that I can attach to the Mini. It'll have to take two adult mountain bikes. A friend with a similar mini tells me one is available from BMW but costs too many £££s.
Quick release would be nice. Anyone else here have any decent suggestions for me?
Thanks.

I use the Halfrauds one on the back hatch - works fine and carries 3 bikes.
I didnt go with the roof one as it involves cutting into the rain gutter.

I've just had a look at the range they have and there's quite a few. Which one did you go for and did you have to have an extra number plate board made up due to the original one being covered by the bikes?

Hi Steve,
I've been using the Saris Bones 3 for the last three years. It has two straps that hook up through the roof spoiler and then four more for the middle and bottom of the hatch. It's not the cheapest of it's kind, but it's very well made and hasn't left any nasty marks or scratches when it's been removed.
It'll carry 3 bikes on there, although you can obviously feel the extra weight while you're driving. If you're carrying just one bike, you can't even feel it's there.
I attach a number plate to the outer edge of the rack using a couple of cable ties.
HTH.
