Hey guys,

Just recently had some work done to my car, which I'm super happy with and can't fault the garage at all on that side of things, however when I got the car back I noticed a nice big kerb mark around 1/4 of the wheel and a big chunk missing out of the sidewall next to the rim. There was still rubber on the kerb mark so you could tell it was a recent injury. I'm 100% certain it happened in their care, because I had previously been polishing and waxing them up the day before whilst the car was off the road as I've provisionally part/ex'd them with a member of another forum and was sending him pictures of them to show the condition etc.

Therefore I have pictures of the wheel in nearly mint condition the day before, I don't park near any kerbs at home or at work, and have never kerbed a wheel since I was 17! Can't see where else it could possibly have happened between me taking the car down there and bringing it home.

I guess I can't really prove anything though so I'm screwed?

i think quite allot of garages to an assesment form when the car comes into there care ( like what you do on a hire car) therefore ask to see that (if theve done one) and if theres no damage listed on it then it has to have happened in there care, and they are then liable for repair costs

I have sent them an email asking if they do such a thing and if they remember anything about it. The car was on and off their ramps for about 3/4 days so plenty of ways it could have happened. The thing is I always use the garage and am very happy with the work, one of the only garages I trust, so I really don't want to fall out with them or want them to think I'm being a dick. But I am really annoyed as I'm supposed to be getting my new wheels tomorrow and now it's probably going to fall through. I'd usually just take it on the chin but wheels aren't cheap and neither is repairing them. Would probably cost more to replace the wheel than the bill of the work I had done.
