And it was the most uncomfortable 5 hours of my life. Which halfwit at Audi decided it would be appropriate to fit 19 inch wheels with paper thin tyres to an A6? The ride is bone breakingly hard, yet somehow the car manages to roll and understeer in corners. Awful set up, I could feel each pebble through my arse as we went along the surface.

Not only that but the 2.0TDi engine is seriously underpowered. Acceleration is painfully slow and the engine managed to sound like a bag of spanners over 3000rpm.

All the while I was wanting to commit suicide as I saw our reflecton in the back of other cars, as our chav christmas lights lit up the entire front end making us look like complete and utter pillocks.

Still, at least the electric window switches were of a highish quality rolleyes

My wife has the A6 2.0TDI. You can turn the daytime lights off using the menu somehow- I think its by the chasssis number menu

I find the seats are the most uncomfortable thing about it. And its not very nice leather at all

The VAG TDi engines really are god awful things when you compare them to for example BMW diseasels.

How they have managed to be seen as competition in that sector rather than Vauxhall etc i can't even imagine

I love my 3.0 straight 6 TD Mercedes engine. It sounds ste at low rpm, but at 3000rpm it actually sounds very nice.

I was lent an A6 3.0TDi S-line recently. It was brand new just PDI'd and I genuinely took it back because I thought they had left the transport blocks in the suspension from the transporter. They hadn't.

What were Audi thinking of? Drain covers actually hurt. Yet my mates A8 on 20" tyres rides brilliantly. Weird.

I think the S-Line doesn't technically have suspension, instead if has lumps of granite shaped into the dimensions of suspension parts! Me father has an A6 SE and thanks to the smallest alloys available (Though not as bad as the current basic alloys) it rides ok apart from that seemingly Audi trait of being wallowy yet crashy at the same time?

S-Line - Dont worry, this guy is definately a troll!

Everyone knows a ride in a S-Line is like floating on a silent cloud and being fed grapes by many beautiful women.

I've experienced nicer leather in Nissan Primeras and Rover 600s compared to the cheaper Audi option. You'd have to pay me to take it over cloth. Really dislike them, a big step backwards from the previous gen IMO.

Can you imagine the type that buys these cars...

Punter: I want an obese car with the most tacky shiny tat on it please.

Dealer: A6 sir, let's look at Options...

Punter: Just a rattly tiny diesel engine and some extra badges. I'll take a dozen extra S-line badges, half a dozen quattro badges...

Dealer: It's not a quat...

Punter: Don't interrupt! I also want ///M badges, RS6 tailgate badge, extra large window sticker saying Versprung something or other, plus a flag to hang in the back window with an Audi logo, some cuff links with S-line on them, a beach towel, pen, hand bag, pants, golf bag, flannel, headed note paper, toilet tissue stamped with Audi, etc...
