The actual analysis, i know nothing about. All i know is they're pretty hot on not wanting people to see that file, so i'm guessing once someone on here with knowledge can explain it will help smile

I'm guessing it either shows something bad or is of commercial significance.

i'd go with the latter, its hardly bp's fault if the oil is in some way 'bad', even barry would be hard pushed to argue that.

Having a look at it there doesn't seam to be any significant quantities of anything nasty in the oil. We have well's in the UK a lot worse with regards to the crap in the oil you have to deal with.

Even comercially there is not really that much thats going to cause problems I wouldn't have thought

Those readings are a bit worrying if they are accurate. The molecular structure of the red power ranger is known to begin in crude oil with a very similar composition. I'm not religious at all but I prey that Christmas will happen this year.

Thread drift alert!

I remarked, several years ago, that aircraft fuel (Jet A1) smelled different in Russia. Stronger sulphur whiff. At the time I received some odd looks from colleagues but is it possible that I was right?

Always possible that the delivery hose just wasn't sealing properly but I still wonder. As for their anti-icing additives let's not go down that (worrying at 40,000 feet over Scandinavia in January) path.

dunno on the JP but russian gasoil does tend to have higher sulphur content so quite possible that your ruskie jet fuel may have as well!

"Despite the risks, BP chose to install the singl e string of casing instead of a liner and
tieback, applying for an amended permit on April 15,11 The company's application stated that
the full casing string would start at 9 7/8 inches diameter at the top of the well and narrow to 7
inches diameter at the bottom, 12 This application was approved on the same day,13
approach, The third version recommends in favor of the single string of casing and is discussed
below,
IJ E-mail from Frank Patton, MMS, to Heather Powell, JC Connor Consulting

Like everyone else, if you let them get away with it, they will do it. I saw an article in a trade publication on thursday which stated that the US in is the same position as the UK in 1988, realising that production and safety are a trade-off.

you have to see class certification (or lack thereof for vessels operating in GoM. Most only have costguard certificates and cannot even operate anywhere else!! Some of the marine construction barges are frankly shocking!
