Credit scoring and employers
Discussion
In the process of completing a lengthy questionnaire for a new job in a financial institution.
No real skeletons in the closet - I imagined it would simply be a case of answering no to CCJs and bankruptcy but there is a section on missed payments within the last 6 years. Recalled missing a couple whilst at university 3-4 years ago, signed up to experians free 30 day credit check to look for the dates etc - which it doesnt infact give, just a series of green lights with an amber and a 1 in the box. Did notice a default on a vodafone credit agreement which I was suprised about - bought a phone from the carphone warehouse with them once years ago and returned it cancelling the contract as it was faulty!
How much more information is an employer likely to get over and above what I can get myself on the likes of experian/equifax etc?
