Get yer torques out for the lads....

Grrrrrr! First person to post up beat me!! I'll post mine shortly...
Nice one Wyn, I was making about 62BHP/litre, and I thought that my 255 was good. Pro rata, for an extra 600CC your 280BHP sounds about right. Thats damn good with the flapper system though. did they give you the AFR plot too?
If you have a look on NT-R's website, they have a few dynoplots of various cars form various events. There are some realy interesting peak figures there...

Don't know how to post the picture up but my 350 made 217 hp/255ft lb flywheel, 171 hp/200 ft lb at the wheels. Not bad at all
sort of goes to prove my point.thats claiming a transmission loss of over 21 - 22% - which unless your car has real issues isnt likely to be correct. rwd transmission loss is usually around 17 % - your loss is closer to that of a 4wd car !!!!!
still all that said whilst the figures themselves might not be all that accurate, they are always going to be comparable to other cars on same rollers on same day.
for those interested in this sort of thing, theres a very knowledgeable and well written webpage here

Here is mine whether it was right or not. I will defer to the lads from NTR as to how accurate it was but I care not a jot.
Ahhhhh fudgenuts! What has flickr done????? No pic yet.
Agree about the variation in different dynos. Classic example, my 4.3 Chimp with fresh cam & bespoke Mark Adams map made 243 'flywheel' bhp on the mobile rollers at last years Chimp 'Roar'. The new owner took it t Janspeed's rollers & got a figure of 255. So it can work both ways. Who knows which if either are accurate. Does give you a ballpark figure though, and you can get a lot of info about the health of your engine from the shape of the curve & the AFR reading.

Flywheel...

Wheels (basically the same graph but with 20% lopped off for transmission losses)...

...and the all-important Air:Fuel Ratio...

Torque curve as flat as a witches' tit
(though I think Ed's car has a broader torque band up around 5000rpm that would probably make it quicker) and AFR so close that the man said "Leave it alone". Peak torque near-identical with Batman's engine. Car has never been near diagnostics in the last 10 years apart from my Gunsons CO meter and an oscilloscope, and the seat of my trousers
NCK motor with 20 thou rebore (ie 3948cc, per the 400 unit), 94mm dished pistons giving CR of about 9.3:1, RPI fast road cam. The inlet manifold and injection system is not the original however but my own lashup, so it'd be nice to see what the (hugely ported) factory installation might give... probably not 275 bhp, but I may make some changes for next year
Incidentally, when Stephen (Hotty) had his car tested, the NTR chap blamed some of the power loss on the choice of petrol (Tesco 95RON). That's exactly what I had in the tank at the time, having just filled up in Stratford. So again, I wonder what improvement 98RON might give
To answer Jeff (dixiebabes) question about tank range, I'd filled up to the filler neck before I left and refilled to the same point in Stratford which took 44L and I'd done 207 miles, which equates to 21mpg... so theoretically 270 miles to a tank, but my ar5e would be nipping by 230

Whoa, another great day. Many thanks to all.
Well, I could feel mine was a healthy one compared to the others I've had but I didn't expect this figure. Not bad for an old flapper.....

A very nice result indeed there Wyn

I can imagine the smile that put on your face
Quite a few more horses than our session at Castle Combe some years ago! Thanks for posting the video link up to that session on another thread the other week, my Wedge has now gone to a very nice and enthusiastic new owner. I owe you a beer

My result there on the Dyno is exactly double what my old 350i prouced that day at Combe. That old lump was on it's way out me thinks. Mine was 140bhp & yours on the same dyno was 200 or so as I recall. Great day the action day, only missed one since.

from mine

To say I was happy with that was possibly an understatement.
Block is ex chimp 400, flapper injection wound up to 50psi baseline, 72mm throttle body, Megajolt ignition with GM coil packs, running on bog standard 95RON unleaded + an airfilter that everyone laughed at but was proven to not cause a power loss !

Sorry down seeing the folks so cannot upload at the mo but the Saltaire flying (Pseudo 500SE
) wedge managed 283.3HP at the flywheel, 345lbs of torque, although it is supposed to be 380hp I expected circ 300 due to TVR's errrrr quoted figures being somewhat ambitious at times
but very pleased with the results. Good feedback from the rolling road guys, running a bit lean and pinking a bit so a FSE regulator will be fitted and timing tweaked once back home
Nite all
Hamish
Update, sheets attached, RR guys noted that peak power is seen between 4,000 to 4,500 rpm, going beyond that did not achieve too much
