Cornwall/Devon area

Hi all

Looking at spending a week in this part of the world next August. I don't know the area at all, but for some reason always wanted to visit - looks beautifull. I've always went abroad instead of holidaying in the UK. Fed of going abroad and I'm starting with South England next year.

Will be a break for me and the Mrs - Looking for 4 or 5 star hotel. Don't know if they have any, but any couples only hotels would be ideal. Wondered if anybody could recommend somewhere and possibly some places to visit/things to do whilst there. I have a few in mind, but would like to hear any good experiences others have had.

I am aware it will be in the middle of the school holidays, but I guess anywhere worth visiting will be mobbed at that time in the UK.

Near Falmouth (satnav handy; it is well tucked away!) so a long way down into Cornwall

has a golf course if you are of the ball-battering-whilst-strolling-around-the-countryside persuasion....

I went this year and stayed at London Apprentice (between St Austell and Mevagissey) but whilst we stayed in a pokey but very nice caravan we passed this placed every day and it looked awesome
