Nor do i.... But I got caught out in a belter yesterday and the buggers stopped mid position
Apparently you can withdraw the springy thing so it should be fairly easy and I'll swap the arms at the same time
Ignition off
Lift the wiper arm covers and with a 13mm spanner remove the arm nuts and
gently crack the arm pivot off the wiper pinion..it's on a taper spline.
Lay these gently onto the screen (ensure that you do not damage the washer
hoses and assoc. parts).
Release the 19mm ferule nut from the rack tube (this is the brass nut on the
end of the motor...Note that you may need to remove the air flow meter to
airbox pipe, to gain access using either a large screw driver or a 7mm
socket)
Release the 2 x 10mm nuts on the bracket.
Turn the motor over and remove the wiring block out of the park switch.
Take the motor and draw the motor and the wiper rack out of the rack tube
complete.
IF a pinion is seized then the rack will not draw through!
Ensure the rack drive does not damage the wing.....
Rotate both pinions 180 degrees ready for the new rack (so that it engages new
teeth onto the new rack, when refitted.
IF the rack does not draw out of the rack tubes easily that there may be
issues with the pinions...again, IF you are not replacing the rack then release the 6 x
1/4 bolts of the gearbox case (silver
cover) and lift the rack off the conrod (so that you can remove the motor)
Replacing is reverse of removal...BUT with a test and then parking the pinions
prior to refitting the arms and locking the 13mm nuts up.

You don't really need to remove the wiper arms, just fold them back.
With the gland removed and motor off check the linkages are free, if the motor is running OK it is more than likely the park switch that is at fault, I'd get a new park switch ready before you start. 4.??mm latched blades can be used to repopulate the connector to the park switch as well - they seem to get pretty crudded up if left in that dark/damp location. Still worth stripping the gearbox (the 6/8 screws Adrian mentions) cleaning greasing and particularly seeing how the 'magic' works - it's pretty simple once you've looked at it

k' with some fresh grease. New arms with integrated washers ordered from Wipex so I'll do the mechanicals all together. They should fly when I'm done
