living next to Goodwood I go down there 2-3 times a week. I've never had a go on the track. I've looked at some videos from people driving there, to be honest, it looks pretty dull to me, no sharp bends at all. A bit pricey, maybe the most expensive in the UK?

Comments anyone?

Going tomorrow as there is a trackday there, just as a spectator, anyone here going?

Yep.

Down there in my Clio cup

Never been on the track at Goodwood before, but was one of the ones I wanted to do because of the heritage of the place.

Goodwood is very expensive, but its a very fast track, also hardly any run off areas, but instructors are very good and its generally very well marshalled. I believe its one of the fasrest tracks in the uk, so be within your limits.
I have been there 10 times now, I love it there, but I do know I,ve been there financially. Go there if you chose too, and love the experience. For me, I,ve got to save up before I go again!

I've driven Goodwood and found it an intimidating circuit to learn as its got a lot of wall very close to the track. I turned up on a cold wet November morning having never seen the circuit before and unlike every other trackday I've been on where you do a couple of really slow laps following a line of traffic on the racing line and cone markers it was a case of line up for your session, let the car in front (that obviously knew the circuit) roar off and dissapear under the traffic light system then go yourself, totally blind and aware that you don't want to be crawling as others who knew the circuit were driving flat out. It took me most of the morning to learn the circuit trying not to get in the way of people. Once I had it learnt I was a lot happier and found it quite good fun.

Driven Goodwood on two seperate track days and I love it. Its fast and flowing but not easy to get right. Madgwick, (first corner), double apex blind exit off camber with a bloody great bump right on the line between the two apexes. Fordwater comes up quickly and required a lift. St. Mary's, a right left right down hill off camber that tightens and then opens up before breaking hard into Lavant which is a realatively easy right hander taking you onto the Lavant straight, (which is far from straight!). Break hard into Woodcote, another double apex right hander and then a short straight before the chicane.

No runoff to speak of, although at Woodcote they have now removed the gravel and replaced it with tarmac.

Have fun but do NOT go there thinking the track is easy. It will bite hard if you do........

Last time I drove there I span through the tyre wall at the chicane and went out onto the grass. Stopped short of the grass bank but I can tell you that was a wake up call. Bank has now been moved closer to the track due to the building of a new hanger!

Hi Erik,

I will be at Goodwood tomorrow in a yellew Caterham if you want to come out for a few laps, as other people have mentioned it is a high speed circuit and I love the fact you are almost flat out around the whole track.

It's far from boring, really quick and oh so atmospheric.

Take up the offer of a ride and you'll see!

I was there on Friday. Absolutely loved it and I cannot wait to go back.

I had an instructor for the first session, and I would recommend the same to anyone who isn't very experienced.

Top marks to Easytrack as it was a great day and really well run only one stoppage due to a spin early on and the standard of driving was great.

What a superb day ! Really well run, friendly atmosphere and what a track !

On a map the circuit may look boring, but it most certainly is not.

Most definately will be back there.
