.... the inevertable is going to happen, you get hit.

Was driving through a stretch of road just outside Abingdon when I approached a bridge with a path next to it.
A teenage lad was walking on my side of the road but not on the path with his mate who was walking ON the path, as far as I can see there was plenty of room for him to walk beside or even behind.

As I drove past the lads, SMACK goes my mirror only nudging it slightly... I got him on the wrist, he can't of hurt it that badly as when I looked at my rear view mirror the cock gave me the middle finger. mad

If the road was a bit wider I might have been able to move away to midle of the road by a few feet but I couldn't especially with on coming traffic.

Hmmm. I am not going to pass judgement as I'm sure plenty of others will be along to do that shortly.

But what I will say is that in principle I totally agree with you. It's jay-walkers in London who I love the most though...the ones who cross the road even though the little red man is lit up and the big green light for the traffic is on....yeah, you fkers make eye contact with me...that's right, I'm only driving a small car...then you step out into the road....no, I'm not braking, yes that's my engine roaring as I drop two gears and point it at you.

Would you have done the same if it was a child walking along? Yes? You're a bad man. What about a horserider? THINK OF THE HORSES AND THE CHILDREN!!

Some of the Reading chavs are excellent for this. Will literally just walk out when the light for the car is on green, usually pushing their horrible offspring in a pram to make way for them.

I guess the only plus side is that if they do it to the wrong person or someone that is not paying attention one day, it will help cull their breeding pool a little.

That's what I thought this was going to be about. Turns out it's just about some crappy little track in Abingdon.

Coming from Bowness upto Windermere there is a little uphill stretch which is 2-way with cars parked on one side.

The road is quite tight anyway and the pavements not overly wide, in summer when the place is packed people are always stepping onto the road without looking to 'overtake' people and the ammount of times I have seen them clipped by bus, lorry, big van wing mirrors is stupid.

....ah the joys of trying to get across Oxford Street in the cab with the "lemming-like" tourists oblivious to absolutely everything......a good lean on the horn and a steely stare always does the trick....but the looks one gets are quite amazing.....tossas.

I know, but to be fair, they're pretty st parents for not teaching the lad to not walk on motorways.

I feel really bad for the people who hit him. It must be terrible to kill someone through no fault of your own.

The 'cross right in front of you with evils' situation is of particular annoyance: typical tracksuit wearing 'rude boi' teens, trousers around their knees, walking with a spastic gait as though they've suffered a stroke. More often than not, hitting (and killing) said individual would be a favour to society.

We had a lady who came to A&E after a council truck's door mirror struck her on the head at low speed. Suffered a base of skull fracture.

nothing to be so pleased about.

If they got your plate then you're looking at a hit and run prosecution I would guess. You've been involved in an accident causing injury and you left the scene.
You saw them in good time but failed to miss him?

Tell me again how this is all OK?

I hate horses on roads. They should be in fields not trotting up the highways with tailbacks of cars while they throw wobblys across the road with some poor young lass on the back.
I hate them personally and the sooner they are banned the better, or tax the bds that would soon stop them. In fact while I am having a little rant about stupid things, tax caravans too.
Its mostly Women that ride horses anyway, hence they probably dont understand that roads were built by the Romans for cars!

I did think "idiot" but there MUST be information we're missing out on.

According to the BBC he had been attending a family function. My first thought was 'pissed up at a BBQ'.
