Subscribing to other people threads

Is it possible to set something up so that people can subscribe to a thread - even if it isn't theirs?

At thr bottom of this window i can click to be notified, but it's not available when replying to someone elses?

Would be a great addition?

It would and I did build a test system ages ago to do it but never put it live.

I shall revisit the idea...
