Evening fellow PHers!

Just bought a 59 plate Zetec-s, realised they have drum rear brakes frown Just wondered if anyone know how easy these are to change to discs to help improve stopping power? If so how much or can it be done in the garage at home??

Are there any kits?

Also anyone got any good advice for tuning and further performance upgrades?

Any issues that I have not found out already about them?

Also should they come with the Ford heated screen as standard??confused

beer Cheers to one and all who read this and especially to those that reply!

Mountune do an upgrade kit for performance. Can't remember details but it's approved by ford so doesn't invalidate the warranty. They do styling packages too. Also I imagine they do coilover kits and a few other bits. I know they do for the fiesta ST.

With my limited knowledge I've heard that the rear brakes on cars like that only do about 10% of braking, hence the drums, I don't know how it would upset the dynamics of adding more braking force to rear than it's set up for.

I think the brakes on my OHs zetec s are some of the best i've used on a modern car.

Rears do sod all anyway... Just press the pedal harder!

I wouldn't bother changing rear drums for discs on the zetec-s, it odviously doesn't require them or they would have been fitted as standard.

The heated windscreen is fitted as standard on most models, especially zetec?
