Perfect hot & sunny afternoon after a cloudy start in London today so I unwrapped the Chim after many weeks of being idle.

What a lovely afternoon it was, we headed out with no agenda (roof off naturally) and ended up in a riverside village, bought a few bits and bobs, had tea and cake and burbled home again after witnessing a few photos being taken of the car as it was parked on the village green.

It's days like today that remind you Gatsos, bib, speedbumps and fuel prices don't matter at all. Driving interesting cars when you have all the time in the world is fantastic.

Here's to next weekend......

+1 to the sun. Looked a little grey earlier today but has really opened up. Top down motoring FTW.

Shouldn't let them idle for that long, bad for the cat.

Not bad for a last minute idea and stopping at a sainsburys petrol station for supplies.

Went to London today, drove half way, parked up at work.

Got back to the car around 6, perfect day. T-bars off, sunglasses on, mood fine.

Mood got even better when 5 minutes from home, a little boy in a Scenic pressed his face up against the glass to look at my car and completely ignored the Carrera cab behind him!.(Didn't stop me looking though!)

Get up, tinker with saab 9000 gearbox, breakfast, tinker some more, go sailing, have a cup of tea on the beach, go home, tinker with car, beer, tinker.

By this point, gearbox is off and I realise I don't have the right clutch slave. Arse. Do as much as I can on the other related bits (replace the master, and a hydraulic hose) and put tools away.

Nice bath to turn me back to being white. Nice dinner and then Top Gear. Now just prepping the bike for a cycle to work tomorrow!

Good day, by and large, only let down by not being able to finish the Saab.

Took the hardtop off the MX5 after a month away and had a three hour country blat with a pub lunch in the middle of it. No route planned, just headed for whatever took my fancy and what a fantastic trip it was.

Had a great day in the Austin Healey from the Avebury Collection. Top down and 200 miles around Kent including a cheeky blast through the Medway Tunnel at full chat. Sadly had to give it back.
