Hi sold a c63 a while ago which had no performance pack, just bought another one with the original p/pack and 18" alloys and to sum it up in a nutshell i would never buy a c63 again without the p/pack again the difference is chalk and cheese.

What about the new Performance Pack Plus?

That has more bhp but not the sports suspension from the p/pack and the lsd is optional as opposed to standard on the original p/pack

I'm not sure what's included in these 'performance packs' but bloody hell, you pay over £50k for an AMG Merc and you have to tick an option box to get all of the performance goodies, surely anyone buying that car wants them all as standard?!

Can someone clarify what year they decided to not include the LSD in the PP?

What would you say the defining feature is of the PP that makes it stand out? Is it the LSD?

2008 and 2009 c63...

if you see red brakes then they are the newer cars w/o the suspension and LSD upgrade. As chiefski mentions, you can option the LSD but not the suspension package.

You sure? I thought that newer models WITH red calipers had the drivers pack, LSD option. This is what makes them standout against those that do not have the option.

Hmmm mine has PPP, LSD option and Drivers pack (with red calipers) and I wouldn't be without the LSD...its a 2010 model.

The newer cars get red calipers as part of the PP.

Can somebody advise how you would know if the C63 has LSD - is there anything visually to look for? Thanks!

Only visual would be to turn the TC off and foot to the floor to see what it leaves biggrin

Sensible answer, call the supplying dealer to confirm the spec'd options.

You're looking for something like 'active differential'

iv seen a 10 plate now visually i can see the red callipers so does this mean the car has the PPP package with the extra 30bhp?

Actually, I am not sure it 100% has the Performance Pack Plus but will defintely have the Performance Pack.
I think visually the PP Plus has carbon fibre bits dotted around the car.

I am sure someone will confirm.

Red brakes = definitely PP Plus (unless someone has retro-fitted which I find highly unlikely)

Also, PP Plus has a carbon rear spoiler but I now think they do a carbon exterior pack for any C63 so this may not be foolproof.

Another way of checking is under the bonnet - the middle bits of the engine cover will be a dark grey as opposed to a light grey. This is not the bright silver plastic airbox covers but the centre bit that covers the engine itself.

Actually, you could just do it the easy way....;)

Get a straight piece of road and line it up against a 2009 or older C63 (one that yu know isn't a Plus car). Push the accelerator to the floor.

The Plus will make itself known by about 80-90 mph.biggrin

Simples!

they must be different now because the early ones i tested the sports suspension was horrid . my ideal spec then would have been diff but no sports suspension . its good if they've sorted it .

works better with 18s... unfortunately most are specced with the 19s.. on an earlier car, 19s + performance pack suspension = rock hard ride......
