Possibly looking to do a degree in something - I have some ideas in mind.

Would have to be distance / evening learning as I am not prepared to give up full time work to study, as the degree I am looking at may, or may not lead to a career.

Having never been to university / participated in higher education before, can someone please advise me on the following -

1) Are Open University degrees the same as a full time University degree once passed?

2) Is the OU the only recommended distance learning facility, or are there other equally / better ones?

3) Any other alternatives for evening learning to degree level - I can't seem to find much information apart from full time courses from the major uni's.

I used the NEC for a professional exam in my job.

The NEC themselves aint bad but the notes are produced by other people in my profession and were a bit out of date - not really the NECs fault as they are not the subject experts.

I use the Open Uni and it's the same standard as a normal University (ie basic for the first year and builds up slowly), just with the pleasure of no direct face-to-face involvement with lefty lecturing staff smile
