Hey guys, im extending my business into opening a little unit for car servicing and repairs in stirling, central scotland. Just looking for any ideas into promotions or advertising, perhaps also stuff to sell in the unit.
so far, i've set up
1/ an autoglym stand offering all autoglym products, slightly cheaper than halfords
2/ can do valeting evenings and weekends, i have got the assistance of a valeter that i used to work with, this guy is toop notch
3/ buying consumables in bulk inc oil, oil flushes, brake cleaner etc to keep the costs down
4/ offering an oil service and small valet from £45+vat
5/ offering anyone who wants to use my existing air con business through the garage a 10% discount
6/ starting an education night offering some help getting people to understand more about checking oil, tyres lights ect
anyone got any other suggestions to how i can make this venture work in these dificult finantial times?
oh, i have also registered as a block exemption servicing station so i can service vehicles with manufacturers warranty without the owner breaking the terms and conditions to keep that warranty

A few of us have been looking for a more advanced car education, basically the knowledge to do our own brakes, servicing etc. No place in central Scotland does this so a market there. Why not also rent out you place maybe at nights for people to use you pit or lift, maybe also allow the use / renting of specialist tools.

the insurance for this is crippling i'm affraid, i looked at renting out a large premises two years ago to do this when i had my first quiet winter from the air con stuff but i couldnt afford the insurance for non qualified persons using the equipment in a building under my nameklimakool said:
yeah, i get bits and bobs at the counter in falkirk, never got anything set up for delivery or account though, whats the best way to go forward with that?
There is probably 2 ways u can start off.1 just phone in and place ur order and ask them to deliver it. They should ask u for ur address and they should send it out on a COD. If u can do this for a while so they can see ur spend with them.
2 after a while phone up and ask them to send out the rep for ur area and tell them u would be interested in a weekly account, Where they will deliver the stuff but only come looking for the cash on a set day each week.
Then if that went well u could move up 2 a monthly credit account.
If u want more info or a contact in branch let me know mate. But they will do all ur cleanning stuff from Turtle wax & they can get ur Auto glym for u. but they do trade stuff which is supplied to garages in big sizes. They should be able to supply all ur consumables oil from Comma, Shell and mobile 1. Servicing parts from Mann Hummel and ADL. Brake parts from Delphi, Bosch and even EBC.
if there is anything u need just ask them they can do oil seal throw to Bus calipers
