Right, my car has always had a tiny water leak, now i found a crack in my thermostat housing so replaced it 3-4 weeks ago and had a bit of a bastid trying to bleed the air and in the end took about 2 days of running and bleeding to get rid of all the air.

Ever since this im topping up the coolant every week or so and ive used probably 1L in about 3-4 weeks. Not major. This morning it was actually pretty low but there is no actual obvious water under the car or anywhere in the engine. My oil level is fine and i have no mayo type stuff in my oil.

The only thing i can find is that this morning after my drive to work i popped the bonnet and can hear the rad cap hissing. Surely it shouldnt do this? Could this be where my coolant is going??

Engine is running perfectly, no coughs or splutters and the temp needle is rock solid.

Your cap could be old and knackered. Start with a new one and see if it stops leaking!
