Hands down to the Germans and their superb autobahn!!!
Discussion
I drove up from Vienna to Berlin and back again this weekend and I got to try out the autobahns properly for the first time.....needless to say I was highly impressed and averaged just a tad over 200kph for about 150km.
The only time I slowed down was for those pesky Polish and Czech drivers who seemed to sit on the inside lane without a single thought for any other drivers.
Brilliant stuff! I even managed 220kph down a hill (most likely with the wind behind me), in my lowly 116d. Saying that, it managed 210kph quite nicely.
Very happy indeed, (plus I got to drive a Trabant in Berlin with the wife

I bet the little 1 series loved 120mph for nearly an hour!!!
It was very happy and about another 1000rpm to the red line so no strain to the engine at all.The only con was my mileage dropped from 54mpg average between Vienna and Dresden to 26mpg between Dresden and Berlin...
