2007 Vogue SE electric steering wheel issues!!!

The electrically adjustable steering wheel seems to have a mind of its own. It especially likes to go as far down as possible (on to your lap) when you either turn the vehicle on or off, this makes it very difficult to get out and almost impossible to steer!!! When it does this the little stick thing you move to adjust the steering wheel does not work, the only way to get it to go back is to start and stop the car numerous times for it to go back to normal. The car is out of warranty but this fault or whatever it is is actually quite dangerous. Has anyone had similar experiences of this?

IS it possible the next time it works to put it in the fully down positiion and then adjust the seat to fit so you never move it again?

It doesn't stop working when you try and adjust it it just has a mind of its own!!! When it is in the down position it is not easy to steer the car!!!

Looking through that other website link it seems that there was a fix for similar issues in 2006 so I think this model should have already had the fix done to it!!

The problem is is that it is very intermittant, sometimes 3 times a week and then nothing for a month, of course when it happens you can't drive it to the dealer (its undriveable) and when its not happening they can't see whats worng with it!!!
