As in, you go to the IMAX or whatever with their 3D projector and settle down for Toy Story 3 in 3D.

Is it like old school 3D things where you have to wear daft glasses and if you dont wear them, the picture looks like you've taken a hefty thump to the head or is it the new style of projection I saw in Japan a few years back where 3D glasses make it 3D but without it just looks like a normal picture?

The real3D film (Avatar) that I saw you wear watch look like very weak polarised sunglasses so there's no red/blue lense type thing to wear. So the film is in proper colour with or without the glasses. However if you watch the film without the glasses it will be out of focus.
