This is born from the TG thread suggesting by SeeFive a payment to a charity of the presenters choice if they say the word 'Constantinople' in next weeks show as a nod to somebody at TG who reads our musings on their offerings each week!

Can we keep the chat in this thread to a minimum please?

Good idea, it'll give me a chuckle if they mention it. I'm in for a fiver.

Don't want to burst any bubbles, but aren't they filmed some weeks in advance?

i think the challanges etc are , but the news etc are filmed on the preceding wednesday so they can put topical items in if they wish.

Good idea but I'm struggling to pronounce that word, I must be thick because I've never heard of it! perhaps another (easier to say) word?

£10

I suggest the charity is Help for Heroes and after we've had the 'Constantinople' moment someone (SeeFive?) sets up a Just Giving page. That will automate the donation and handle Gift Aid.

There has been some suggestion on threads that they sort of reference the discussions on here in the program - especially James' close on Sunday. What I was quietly trying to do was to find a way for them to let us know that they read our stuff without too much publicity.

The idea was for the presenter who mentions it to choose the charity. I believe JC is hooked up with Help for Heroes, so it could happen. Hadn't really thought of the logistics for collecting the cash, but happy to set it up in the remote chance that they read this and respond to the Top Gear Pistonheads Challenge.

It probably will be Help for Heroes, JC is a patron isn't he?
