Does being at Hokenheim on a 4 day trip with paddock and pit access with the Virgin Racing team count as a good enough excuse?
If so, sorry mate, can't make it.

No preblem, arrive Friday morning, watch practice session, see Virgin cars blow up 30 mins into practice, catch plane, you will make it back intime If so, sorry mate, can't make it.

I dont think your rear wing has enough adjustment potential!!!! ha.
Racing boys:
How did you guys find the exit of Sears now they have painted all the concrete we used to use as extra track? When i raced there in March the Clerk of the course gave us a talk clarifying what was acceptable with regard to run off etc. Since then it appears they have modified the track and are clamping down on Sears and Russells.
I'm racing there in Sep, would appreciate any heads up.
cheers

I was going to answer this, then I noticed you have a Volvo V40.
Are you qualified to drive a lump of cheese?
As Owen says, you can take two wheels over, not four, however, I went over a few times wit all four, no flag, I think they are looking for persistant offenders.
I actually think that it makes for a quicker exit, hard to explain, probably because you have to concentrate so hard.
Sears is a typical slow in fast out, the reason to go over the other side is because the corner was taken too fast. As a result, the new rule makes you slow down far more than normal but you end up with a very quick exit.
I followed lots through there that had all four wheels off and the ground I picked up on them was enourmous.
I personally like it as I could never get that corner right.
Let me know what you think.
Ash,
appreciate the reply. I should probably update that profile although i did own that when i started racing. now have the Noble, Range Rover 4.6 v8, MR2 race car and 89' VW Scirocco Scala (dont ask why, seemed like a laugh at the time - white, white interior, white wheels, white rear light... completely standard to!!!).
I think i was like you, always struggled to feel confident with the exit. Just started playing with data logging and reading/understanding the data. I think this would help but now the track is better defined i hope it wont be as varied. I imagine you can get away with it a bit, like many of the Brands Indy corners druids, Graham Hill etc. I think you're right though, its all about exit speed with that length of straight though isnt it.
I enjoy Snetterton as a race track though.
Would love to come and meet you guys though. keep us all up to date with where you will be. I find it a lot more interesting watching racing when you know someone out there. A good friend of mine Mark Jessop (Untouchable MR2 champion for 3 years running) has a drive in the Ginetta G50s with the BTCC in Sep @ Donington. I'm racing the same weekend on Sunday but hope to make it there inbetween Friday testing and the race (and in my Noble).
If anyone else is going you'll have to let me know.
