becuse some fookin idiot will but it believing it to be "exclusive" and worth it.

The only thing exclusive is the group of idiots you need to belong to, to part with that much cash for a model car.

Well if it's made by Amalgam it can't really be called a diecast, it will be pretty much hand built.

Also remember that a 1/8 scale model is 5 times as large as a 1/43 scale model, which means there is 125 times as much space in it (5 x5 x5) hence that much more scope for detail.

I remember one of the manufacturers saying that to put 10% more detail on a model involved 50% more work - and hence cost.
