Having to keep logging in :(

For some reason, lately PH keeps asking me to 'log in', even after just logging in and posting a reply! Today i have probably had to log in 3 or 4 times - is this an issue *my* computer?

No one else then? Obviously a problem with my computer /s. How come though, you can go weeks without having to log-in, then have to do it half dozen times in one day

it's been happening to me lots, but usually on the i-phone. PC seems fine.

Whether you are logged in or not is based on a cookie on your machine. If these become confused then it will ask you to log in again.

Clearing your cookies and then logging back in should sort it, but if it doesn't then just let me know.

I asked about this before, as my iphone kept logging me out.

The solution I got was to log in through the 'members' tab on the home page, rather than logging in through the forum section of the site.

Next time my home computer asks me to log in, i am going to ask Firefox to 'remember password for Phooey' - this always pops up when i have to re-log in, gives me the option to remember password, never for this site or (if i can remember) 'ask later'.

Do you think this should cure it?

That won't make any difference, all that will do it allow firefox to automatically fill the password box when the screen appears. Delete your PH cookies (Tools > Options > Remove Individual Cookies) then type in pistonheads.com and delete everything in that list. I'm 99.9% certain that will sort it.

I've been having exactly the same problem and cleared all of the PH cookies (Safari on OS 10.6) and had the same problem occur the following day.
As mentioned before on a similar thread, there were rather a lot of cookies in such a short space of time!

Any ideas on anything else to try?

I deleted my pistonheads cookies as advised by Mr Will, and so far - all is good

I also, as advised by snotrag, logged in through the 'members' tag.

I have been asked to log-in a few times again over the last 24 hours. I have a feeling it may be something to do with Firefox - had a couple of small updates recently.
