living on a25 - road noise?

Considering buying a house on the a25. This is a nice area with lots of nice old houses but I am worried about road noise. Can anybody who lives on this road comment? Did you get used to it?

Which part of the A25?

Generally speaking though, it's always a busy road, and I suspect with an older house you wont have the option of modern double glazing to insulate yourself against the noise

near nutfield. we can double glaze - its not listed. im just not sure if the road noise will drive me mad.

Well the Nutfield part is a slower section so you might be alright, but again it is still a busy road unfortunately!

The only saving grace is that I haven't seen a vast number of trucks on that stretch
