My 3R is going in for some work!
Discussion
Hello!!
My 3R is going in today for some work to be done,
I was wondering if I should ask the dealer to do anything else to my car? Is their anything you could recommend I get them to do/fit?
Many thanks
p.s. When I picked my 3R up a couple of weeks ago I saw 2 Silver Nobles (customer cars) in for service, wouldn't be anyone on here??

Thanks iv added that to my list,
Well the list of work is as follows:
Alternator replacement
Accelerator pedal needs adjusting
Passenger wing mirror adjustment
Passenger door not shutting properly
Rattle from Exhaust
Manifold being replaced
Windscreen washer fluid leaking from wiper
I bought the car 2 weeks ago of which they serviced the engine and I requested for the car to be picked up early so all this work they didn't get a chance to do which is being done for me tomorrow..
This way I got to test the car and see what I thought needed doing too!!
So if you have any more ideas as to upgrades that would be great to look into..
Thanks for your help,

If it's an original exhaust and the silencer rattles, that will be because the baffle inside has come loose. It is spot welded top and bottom and the welds rust leaving the baffle flapping. The rattle is often worse when the exhaust is hot.
Make sure they sort it properly otherwise you will be in for an expensive replacement in the future.

As for the Windscreen washer fluid seems to be a common problem? Is everyone finding this?
Thanks

The wing mirror mod can be done yourself - it is actually very easy.
Get them to check all the intercooler/air intake pipes and fastners (well really DIY). I almost shat myself yesterday when I pulled out to overtake a car on a local country road when I heard a pop and lost power - my immediate thought was the engine had let go but was pleasantly suprised when it continued to drive but with much less power - it felt very boring being NA for a while.
Fortunately it was just the intercooler pipe that had blown off so an easy fix but the first time this has ever happened.

Its wise to try not to accelerate hard when this happens as the compressors can be spinning outside of their operating range if you allow them to which can't do them much good at all!!david.mt said:

A de-tuned one at that!!Talking about heat damage - also check that the heat wrap tape around the front cat and exhaust is fully intact.
Mine perished and fell off, and the heat melted the side of my battery and the top looks like it has been on fire.
New battery and tape now fitted. Not an easy job without a ramp and the floor still on the car.
