Need to service my drive chain, am fitting a new Sram cassette and chain and will strip down my Shimano bottom bracket.

So what Grease should I be buying to fit all this back together? Before I have just used Bearing Grease, same as I've used for my car!

Any recommendations?

very light smearing of lithium grease on the freehub body when you replace the cassette. You'll find that your Shimano BB is a sealed unit so there's not much you can to do to strip it down! If you fit a new one then a bit of Li grease on the threads will help.

Sorry I should have been a bit more accurate, of course I won't be striping down the sealed BB bearings.

I just need a good grease to lube up the threads etc and also grease my pedal bearings, seat post, headset etc. A good general grease that will do everything without going horrible and black. I'm also rebuilding an old bike to get it back on the road.

You should strip the bearings down, there's no reason not to. The seals can be pried away with a thin jeweller's screwdriver.

Ignore the "DO NOT DISASSEMBLE" printed on the seals, that's just to frighten you into buying new.
