For all those seasoned Afan-goers could you give me a couple of tips for bike security. I'm being told that thieves are pretty rife in the area and are also very determined - locking bikes inside cars is not a deterrent.

So, I then go on to ask what I do about my bike at night? Do you chain it to your leg? Buy a guard dog for the weekend?

What have you guys done in the past?

They have a bike store and 24 hour security, but you have to get your bike in there by a certain time (6pm-ish IIRC).
I'll be there this weekend giving my new Boardman Pro HT it's first run. rotate

I heard this Is the case but it eats into your day getting them out in the morning? I'm hoping we can squeeze them into the v-dub under the bed, even if we then chain the wheels to the roof.

I'm very much looking forward to getting out on some new trails - never done the welsh before.

Just remember to stop and check the bolts after a little shake down, I didn't and ended up with the front cog hanging off after losing 2 of the 4 bolts with the other 2 being very loose. Managed to limp back to the car tongue out
