"We both just sat there after the birth staring at her for ages - not saying anything."

White ancestors.

Colour doesn't always get progressively diluted as the generations pass it on.

Sometimes it can stay dormant and pop up again.

Ah, but without red haired babies there'd be no red haired women.

And red haired men are essential to keep the red haired girl gene going.

Well I heard about Labour party activists trying to entice the minority vote, but that's a step too far IMO.

I'm sure he's right, and this is a quirk of the genetic lottery, we came out of Africa any way. but when I clicked the link and saw the bundle of joy my first thought was Boris Johnson again?

Mum Angela, 35, of Woolwich, South London, beamed as she said: "She's beautiful - a miracle baby."
No, I think you'll find there was no miracle involved; you had sex and then had a baby approximately 9 months later. All seems normal to me; the world could do with fewer 'miracles', there are too many of us.

genetics does that sometimes. Someone on both of their sides of the family was white. The gene remains recessed for many generations and then because the circumstances were right (i.e. both families had white genes)then they had a white child.

There is a former Radio two presenter (can't remember who) who is as white a sheet but has a black brother for this reason.
