Doing a preliminary spec-up of my ideal M3 and can't find much about the various audio options on the car. The BMW online configurator was worse than useless...

So what are the differences and which is the one to have?

1. Loudspeaker System - BMW Business (£390)
2. Loudspeaker System - HK (£920)
3. BMW Individual Audio System (£1435)

Also, having the USB option; does this mean you can only plug a USB stick in, or can one connect their iPod/iPhone through this also?

Cheers!

Having had both Logic 7 & business (with tweeters & separate amp), I think Logic 7 is bare minimum. Base is unthinkable. I don't know that there is a big enough difference between Individual and Logic 7 to worry about, but if it were me speccing a new M3 I would go individual.

Yep USB requires a funny Y cable(30 quid from bmw) and you can plug in your ipod, control via command is pretty good too.

Pretty sure i have the business one in mine, cant remember if im honest. It's decent enough.

I have the business version with USB.

I would have opted for a better audio spec but brought a pre-registered car. I thought I would be disappointed with it but it is pretty good. I think the DSP would be the right choice in an M3 (I had it before in an X5) - its not that big a space to fill and the individual option is a fair chunk more money.

I-pod works really well although begrudged paying the £30 for the lead.

Business has good sound quality but if what you play has moderate bass then it won't go very loud. It does presumably to prevent distortion and is mildly annoying!

I have the Individual Audio Equipment in my car. It's very very good!

I bought the car at a year old so it was someone else's money! I've listened to other BMW Audio Systems, and there is a difference in my opinion.
