Audi coupe rear knocking

I've got an audi coupe quattro, seems there is quite a loud knocking at the rear when being not being perfectly smooth with the clutch & fully letting off the throttle. Still drives as it should, just feels like a big thud.

Been told it could be rear diff bushes, but that was explaining the problem down the phone, is there anyway i could check without having the car on a ramp?

Anyone had a similar problem?

ETA; found the problem, had a friend look under the car whilst I released the clutch with the handbrake on, about inch & half play in the rear diff mount.

Drive shaft universal joint worn maybe?

You need to be able to get under it to check.

rear diff bushes/mounts would make sense. Which shape coupe quattro is it, as you might have an issue sourcing parts.

Don't think it's this, the gear stick also jolts when it happens.

Had a look last night, it's not the exhaust.

Anyone know a decent audi specalist in the yorkshire area?
