So I'm sitting here at Lyon airport, in fact I've been fking sitting here for nearly 2 hours! I know the fking cheese eating surrender s have got yet another one of their strikes on at the moment, but I'm flying British fking airways! I checked their website this morning and it said flights from Lyon are running on time... Are they fk? Hardly anything moving out here but the announcement board still says flight due to leave at 11:55. bkS! It's now 12:25. There's nobody here from the airline, no announcements and nowhere to get a coffee/beer/sandwich. I've got onto BA's fking crap website and am having to tell other passengers what's happening!
I hate the phrase but BA & Lyon airport, epic fail! fking shower of wkers!
And breathe.

ETA I don't know with to send the s a heavy e-mail or throw a can of Red Bull at their fking A320 if it ever makes an appearance!

On the flip side dude, I flew with BA 4 days ago to Bulgaria and back from Heathrow and it was one of, if not the best flight Ive ever been on.

The Air Stewardess on the way out was absolutely stunning.

This is what flightstats.com had to say:

Estimated: 12:59 PM - Wed Jul 21, 2010

Last time I visited a mate in Lyon it took so long to get through the airport at each end I swore the next time I did the trip it would be in a car because it would take just as long door to door, and not really cost much more - with the added benefit of not being treated like a drug smuggling terrorist or cattle in each airport.

You have my sympathies!

I'm amazed anyone bothers with BA anymore, especially lately. Not that the French ATC being on strike has anything to do with them mind.

Lyon is a fecking awful airport, it makes CDG look superb by comparison.

Bearing in mind the hour time difference, his last post was apparently at the Actual departure time!

Last time this happened we had to plan the roundabout route via Holland, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland then (finally) Italy to get to Naples. Bundles of fun rolleyes

I'm told that they are working to rule because they (ATC) have been told that they will have to start clocking in and out instead of continuing the time-honoured practice of just shuffling their idle, gallic arse throught the door at whatever time pleases them.

Bugeyeandy.
1) I checked with airline from hotel!
2) There was no announcement of any delay at the airport. When we finall boarded the displays still showed 11:55
3) As I said, I went online and was the only source of info fo all passengers!

Ranting from Blackberry!

It wasn't the length of wait that annoyed me, it was the total lack of information!

Here's what happens.

Airline files a flight plan. Flight plan is accepted. French ATC (working to rule remember so looking to create maximum disruption) say nothing while knowing full well they will be delaying flights by doing everything at half speed, refusing requests for short-cuts and other expeditious measures. At the start of the working day everything runs relatively well but the back-up starts to build. ATC say nothing.................you can see how it happens.

Last time we were being told we had no slot delays. Call for engine start and "You have a two hour slot delay".

You're ranting at the wrong people.

biggrin but at least I got it out of my system! BA knew exact times of delay (it was on their website) but they chose not to inform their passengers!

Do you mean they didn't inform their passengers by putting it on the website? wink

This isn't BA's fault, it's the froggy ATC going on strike, blame them instead!
