Headlamp replacement suggestions

It seems that one of my Griff's headlamps has disintegrated to the point of being marginal for passing an MOT. Nothing wrong with the reflector surface - the lamp has simply disintegrated and glue will only hold it together temporarily.

It has also become clear that 5.75" dipped beam reflectors taking H1 bulbs are now obsolete. I would prefer not to pay over the odds (assuming there is stock somewhere) for a single replacement unit since the other lamp is likely to fail in a similar way before next year when there may not be stock available...

I can, however, get some 5.75" H4 reflectors. Before I get these and change the wiring round to suit, I wondered if anyone had any better ideas. I would like to keep the Griff looking as standard as possible.

I have a brand new 5.75 Cibie flat front headlamp, i think all griffs were fitted with Cibie from new except the last 'LE' editions, anyway i will sell it to you with a new h4 bulb and the new bulb holder to go with it.... £20 plus postage

New pods would be required, wouldn't they? Or I would have done that already since I have a pair of 7" lamps on the shelf.

I don't feel like spending another £300 on the car (it's consumed enough money of late), so as nice as new pods would be, I think I'll go for the cheaper 5.75" option. I don't have a light output problem, just a beam forming problem.

Tempting offer Andy, but if I go for H4s I would need a pair.

I bought SE Pods i think they are the same as the Tam but you might be able to butcher/alter the old ones

You say you have the 7" already so should be able to see if its possible
