Bought my second bicycle

So my rebirth into pedaling started a year ago with a Giant M1, sort of hybrid urban thing, matt black frame, 26 ins wheels with treaded road tyres and hydraulic disc brakes, bought off eBay and apart from a small winter layover I am now using it loads for fun and commuting.
It is used so much now that I am considering selling my much under used Triumph Street Triple.
I have been tempted by a lightweight road bike for sometime now and have been fascinated by single speeds and fixies.
So I have just bought, what I think is the best of both worlds, a Specialized Langster which has a flip flop rear wheel so I can slowly introduce myself to the idea of riding a fixie.
Picking it up on Friday after riding my Giant for over a week without changing gear to get me used to the idea.
The best thing it is also matt black so as long as she never sees both bikes at the same time she will never know. I'm pretty sure she won't even spot the drop bars but if she does I'll just say that they are swappable.
Went out on a test run on the Langster today and I really liked and it must be half the weight of my Giant.
10% off the sale price and I was sold.

Nice buy. I treated myself to a Langster too last year. I really enjoyed getting out and about on it and the silence from not running the chain through a derailleur.
I must admit I stayed away from my preferred discrete look and went for the blingy Las Vegas edition. No pics as i did not take any before taking it back to the Uk and it's now sitting in its transport box waiting for my return

Awesome purchase, IMHO.
I love my fixie (felt curbside in totally ghey baby blue).
It is now whisper quiet since I replaced the BB that sounded like it was eating gravel.
The flat bars are great for commuting but I do wonder about switching to drops.
Saw a matt black de-badged Langster the other day and now know what bike is next on the list!

So I picked it up yesterday morning and I rode it from Evans Cycles Wandsworth to Richmond Park, once round and then back home again, about 15 miles and it was great. I even got it up the hill in the park starting at Robin Hood Gate. I was virtually stationary near the top and it took a couple of miles for my heart beat to return to normal but I did it, and on a ss and passed a couple of the lycra boys on their multi gears. ( OK it was a dad and his young son ).
I was going to get a Specialized Allez Elite but since most of my rides are in London and the Langster was half the price, I decided to save some money plus I will swap the rear wheel over and see what this Fixie thing is all about.

Unfortunately my other half is now far too knowledgable to fall for that one...
Loving the Langster and I flip flopped the wheel this evening to try out this fixed business. Took it slowly and thought all was ok until approached a massive speed bump and tried to freewheel over as I normally do and could not understand why my feet suddenly flew off the pedals.
I only did about a couple of miles as my young daughter was following but I think I was getting used to the idea but I would not be too sure about getting straight into the cut and thrust of London commuting traffic. During a high stress situation, ie crossing Hyde Park Corner, I'd be bound to forget and do something daft.
Going to keep practising and already like the way the brakes are not needed so often and the ability to stay on the pedals whilst stationary.
