Paris, Italy or New York for Christmas / Wife's 30th?
Discussion
My wife will be 30 soon and I've already started to think about things we could do to celebrate. The snag is that her birthday is on Christmas Eve.
She's always wanted to go to New York and Paris whilst also saying she'd love to go back to Rome and Florence.
So the question is, which one of these places would be the best combination of Christmas and "special romantic break" ? We'd probably be looking at going for a very long weekend (not quite a week)
I tend to think of Italy as more of a summer destination.
The savings on a flight to Europe could go towards a significant hotel upgrade compared to New York.
Oh, and I have enough Virgin Flying CLub miles to go in premium for an economy fare.
Decisions, decisions...........

New York is fantastic over the Christmas period. They really go to town with the whole thing.
I would go this route, especially if you and the Mrs have already done Italy (which tbh is a little dull over the festive period).
As much as I would like to say Italy (as I am resident here since 2002) is the place to go over Christmas (see profile) I would say that New York has the best Christmas atmosphere !! Italy misses that special something at Christmas and yes it is quite "dull"I would go this route, especially if you and the Mrs have already done Italy (which tbh is a little dull over the festive period).
