924 Aluminium Wheel Nuts??

Can someone please give me a reason why alli wheel nuts are used on 924's & 944's ?

Porsche has been fanatical about wheel weight and handling, and I suppose this is just one of the tricks they used to keep things light. I had a '65 Alfa Guilia Spider, and that car had huge brass wheel nuts, which always seemed kind of strange.

BTW, aluminum comes in many grades, you mix it up any way you want it. Some of it is pure junk, some of it has been to the moon and back.
